All through the process of the study of sites, the Buildings and Grounds Committee has taken the position that this question was so important that the entire Board of Regents should be familiar with every step of th6 proceedings. As you know, many meetings of the Board h�ve been held relative to different features of the study, and main de­ cisions have been made only after the committee has been assured of the approval of the Board. We felt, however, that it would be helpful to bring together into a single report a swnmary of the findings and recom­ mendations which we have previously discussed with you. Section I NUMBER OF SITES STUDIED AMD ITEMS COVERED Over a period of many months the Buildings and Grounds Oo111Dittee has been working on tr1e problem of the best site for the Municipal Univer­ sity of Omaha. We have considered about twenty-five different sites and have made a careful study of seven sites which seemed to be located so as to meet the general principles of site location that were worked out. The sites considered and studied have been in all parts of the city, down town, north, west, and south. four or five acres to ninety acres. Redick Hall was named for Oak C. Redick, a member of the board of trustees, who offered his 10-acre homestead mansion at 24th and Pratt Streets to the university on flexible terms. The completion of Joslyn Hall in 1916 relegated the mansion obsolete. It was dismantled and shipped 222 miles to Currie, Minnesota where it was recycled as a dance pavilion and cafe on Lake Shetek.
