Omaha University vs Drake University Football Game, November 20, 1965
Briscoe, Marlin, 1945-

This video, just 5 minutes and 54 seconds long and silent, is the only known surviving footage of Marlin Briscoe (#27) playing for the University of Omaha. The date was November 20, 1965, and the OU Indians faced the Drake University Bulldogs in Des Moines for their tenth and final game of the season. Despite an early lead in the first period, OU lost to Drake, 36-30, a bitter end to an otherwise stellar 8-2 season. Though the Indians were not victorious, Marlin Briscoe put forth an impressive performance, hitting 13 of 27 passes for 194 yards.

OU Hero Briscoe Leaves Behind Passable Career
Briscoe, Marlin, 1945-
It's hard to determine whether the headline was intended as a pun, a massive understatement, or both, but Marlin Briscoe's "passable career" in OU football came to an end with the 1967 season. He held 21 records at OU. Briscoe finished strong with his final game at OU, "scrambling the best he has scrambled all season" and was acknowledged as "perhaps the greatest athlete ever to play here."

Source: Anderson, Gary. H. A. Raapke Architectural Drawings
Architectural drawing
The H. A. Raapke Architectural Drawings collection contains original architectural drawings and studies dating from 1891 to 1907. The collection includes 53 original drawings on 48 loose sheets (most 18.5" x 24.5", some with drawings on both sides) with detailed architectural drawings in pencil, some with watercolor accents. Some are stamped "Atelier Préparatoire D'Architecture, Godefroy & Freynet, 4, Rue du Dragon, 4 - Paris" or "Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts, Concours D'Emulation." Many are signed H.A. Raapké. The artist seems to have experimented with different stylized signatures with varying degrees of legibility, at one point apparently shortening the spelling to H.A. Rapké. At some point, the artist appears to have dropped the acute accent mark from Raapke. Some drawings are unstamped and unsigned. The range of dates of these drawings is from 1899 to 1907, with some sheets lacking dates.
H. A. Raapke (d. 1959) was an architect in Omaha, Nebraska. He designed the Renaissance Mansion in Omaha, the North Star Theatre in Omaha, and the New Moon Theater in Neligh, Nebraska. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects from 1918 until 1923.
Note that due to a software glitch, the individual file names and identifiers within this set only end in odd numbers. Missing even numbers do not indicate missing images. All 53 images are presented here.

Marlin 'The Magician' Briscoe is Happy Pro
Briscoe, Marlin, 1945-
Five years after Marlin Briscoe moved on from OU, the Gateway did a feature on his early pro career. After a frustrating year with the Denver Broncos, Briscoe signed with the Buffalo Bills, where he played as a wide receiver, though he would have preferred to be a quarterback. After that, he went to the Miami Dolphins, where he played on two Super Bowl championship squads. At the time the article was written, he was temporarily out of service due to an injury. Just days after this article was published, Briscoe would be deactivated by the Dolphins, squelching the optimism he expressed here.

Source: Vermaas, Herb. Briscoe, Marlin, 1945-
OU's hopes for a great 1966 football season were dashed when Marlin Briscoe sustained an injury that took him off the field. "Out for the remainder of the season with a fractured vertabra of the neck, Briscoe's absence may spell one of the first losing years for Coach Al Caniglia. Briscoe's replacements in the game Lew Garrison, Bill Haas, and Ray Shaw, were willing, but unable to fill Marlin's shoulder pads . . ."

Source: Cowman, James. Before the 1967 football season even began, the mere knowledge that Marlin Briscoe would play again sparked a tide of optimism for OU's prospects. From the Bushes
Briscoe, Marlin, 1945-
By his sophomore season, Marlin Briscoe was already being touted as the team's key to victory. "A lot of the fortunes of the 1964 team may depend on the flying feet of soph quarterback Marlin Briscoe. Briscoe amazes you with his speed and deceptiveness and the ability to cut a thousand different ways when cornered. Coaches say he throws the running pass with the best. He's quicker than Carl Meyers but his ability to call the 'right' play and his coolness under fire will be tested Saturday by a big, tough Idaho State line. For sheer running ability, he could develop into the best OU signal caller yet."

Source: Moran, Mike. "From the Bushes." Gateway. September 14, 1964. Page 4.
